Swim - Sprint: 750 m  Olympic: 1500m(2 laps)

Swim begins at Rotary Beach on Tuc-el-Nuit Lake and heads out and parallel to the shore out 375 meters and then back.  The course is marked with buoys and there will be boats to offer assistance if needed.  Exit the swim, go across the grass, up the stairs to the road-level transition.

 

 

Bike - Sprint: 20 km  Olympic: 40km

Sprint: From the transition area, cyclists turn left and head along 71st St., turn right onto Black Sage Rd., 750m & climb and to then to the first turnaround turnaround at Inkameep Rd., returning back towards and passing transition cyclists then go North along 71st towards Hwy 97 out to the Vincor building.  Just before the Hwy there is the second turnaround and cyclists now ride back to transition.  Cyclists must be aware of vehicle traffic while on the cycle route.  Please stay to the right and do not block vehicles on the road as this will lead to a penalty for blocking.

Olympic: Olympic course cycylists follow the one loop course for the Oliver Half Iron.  From the transition area, cyclists turn left and head along 71st St., turn right onto Black Sage Rd following the same initial route as the Sprint course.  Riders ride up Black Sage Hill and continue south until Black Sage Rd turns into Rd 22. This road, Rd. 22, winds and ends at Highway 97 where cyclists turn right and ride back towards Oliver following the Persona Oliver Bike Course from this point.  The course is clockwise and there a no turnaround points as per the course map.

Run - Sprint: 5 km  Olympic: 10km (2 laps)

Fairly flat course that is a 2.5km out and back for the Sprint course and 2 laps for the Olympic.  There are 2 aid stations on the run. Runners exit transition and head out 81st Street turning left when the road hits 87th street .  Runners proceed along 87th Street to the turnaround which is just before you reach 364th Avenue .  Runners then return along the same stretch.
For the Olympic distance race runners will turn around at the top of the hill just before the finish and head out for their second lap.

2:00 - 5:00pm - Package pick-up at Oliver Parks & Recreation Main Hall, 36003 79th Street .
ID and TriBC card must be shown in order to pickup package. Waivers must be signed and all fees paid before the race package will be issued.

5:00 - 6:00pm - Pre-Race Meeting at Oliver Parks & Recreation Main Hall. This is the time to ask questions so please be in attendance.

Sunday, June 17, 2012- Race Day

Package pick up on race day is available between 7-8am.

7:00 am - Bike lot open at Rotary Beach. Body marking and timing chip given to athletes. Parking will be available along 71st Street. Signage will be posted and volunteers will direct you.

8:00 am - Race starts at Rotary Beach. Chip timing by Race Headquarters. TRIBC rules in effect.  Wave starts may be required (decision to be announced at pre-race meeting).  If waves apply they will be as follows (subject to change):

  • First wave - Olympic Distance Athletes

  • Second wave - Sprint distance athletes

9:10 am - Swim course closes.

Noon - Post race awards & lunch at Rotary Beach (In case of inclement weather, this will be moved to the Oliver Parks & Recreation Main Hall).
